How to add echo effect on TikTok

TikTok users are going viral by joining in on popular trends using echo effects that change the sound of your videos. Here’s how to try it for yourself.

As the short-form video sharing platform TikTok grows in popularity, new trends and challenges are being created daily, spreading throughout the app at an amazing rate.

Many of these trends rely on the effects or filters available in the app, and people often get creative with the selection of editing tools that can be used to transform your video.

One such effect is the echo effect, which is available as one of a group of voice filters that you can apply to your videos including chipmunk, baritone, synth, and robot effects.

The echo effect has become a much of the ‘how does memory sound’ and ‘core memory’ trends, but voice filters have a number of different uses, and are a handy filter to know how to use.

Here’s how to try it for yourself.

How to create voice echo on TikTok

Thankfully the effect is available right from TikTok, so you don’t have to worry about switching to other apps to get this particular editing tool.

To apply effects to your video, simply do the following:

  1. Debut TikTok.
  2. Click more at the bottom of the screen to open the camera.
  3. Record a video using pink record button, or select a video from your photo gallery using ‘Upload’ icon in the bottom right.
  4. Light weight ‘Next.’
  5. On the edit screen, click ‘Voice effects’ tab on the right.
  6. Scroll until you find ‘Echo’ effect.
  7. Light weight to apply the effect, then tap the video again to go back.

Applying effects to your videos is simple and allows you to participate in a wide range of trends using voice filters.
