The second season of “Raisin Dion” is set two years after the events of the first season. As Dion (Ja’Siah Young) grows up, he becomes more confident, both in his super powers and as a person. This is reflected in the burgeoning relationship between Nicole and her son, Alisha Wainwright explains.
“I think like [Dion] grip [his powers] and they weren’t so tied to his emotions, he could call them out at will,” explained Wainwright. This takes a lot of the pressure off, and there’s no threat present, you know? The energy is out there because energy never dies, but honestly like anyone, it becomes ordinary life. If you look at our lives now, we’re doing things [that], two years ago, [would] seems crazy, but now they are part of normal life. I think the way that you have this great potential threat looming, after a couple of years you don’t see or feel anything, you just need to get back to normal. I think when you have the element of, he has a little more control, then she feels like she has more control, and then life can just [happen]. That’s where we see them at the jump to Season 2.”
