Houston unlocks the fifth highest growth rate in the US for middle-class homeowners

HOUSTON, Texas – The number of middle-class homeowners in the greater Houston area grew at an impressive rate between 2010 and 2020, according to a new study.

Among the middle-income housing markets with at least 50,000 more middle-income homeowners during the 10-year period, the Houston area pinned 52,716 of those households, according to the study published by the National Association of Realtors. This puts Houston fifth overall in the United States

Houston is also booming in another area. Looking at the amount of real estate wealth created for the middle class from 2010 to 2020, Houston totaled $51.5 billion, according to the study.
