Houston police officer shot: Roland Caballero charged with additional charges for allegedly shooting 3 police officers

On Friday, Roland Caballero was charged with three counts of intentionally killing a police officer. The new charges include more aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and illegal possession of a weapon with a previous felony. Federal charges were also filed for possession of a machine gun and felony gun possession.
On Thursday, a 911 call was made from a home in the Fifth Ward after Caballero got into a fight with a woman, according to records. Caballero then followed the woman to another house, pointed a gun at a man’s face, left and then returned when police showed up.
That’s when he led the police on a chase and ended up crashing into McGowen Street and Hutchins near the downtown area. The shots were fired immediately.
After an hour-long stalemate at Lockwood’s 1800s home, Caballero surrendered with no hand.
Houston police recovered a gun, modified to fire quickly, from the vehicle he was driving. They recovered a second gun he was carrying as he fled the scene in McGowen and Hutchins. A neighbor’s cell phone captured it on camera. Police believe both likely have parts created on a 3D printer.
Caballero had a hearing on Monday, but that was rescheduled to Wednesday, February 2. Police said he was still recovering in hospital.
