One passed on the West Loop main roads, while the other passed just off the feeder lift near Post Oak and Hidalgo.
Both officers are expected to be ok.
HPD said it was a busy night thanks to St. Patrick’s Day, TX2K and RodeoHouston.
According to HPD, a Jeep pulled off I-610 to Hidalgo around 3 a.m. Friday and crashed into a tree.
Officials responded to the scene of the accident, as well as two tow drivers.
Investigators said the Jeep driver was intoxicated.
While an HPD officer, the driver of the Jeep and both tow drivers stood on the street investigating the accident, police said a Honda descended Hidalgo and crashed into everyone.
The HPD officer and the driver of the jeep were taken to the hospital, but both are expected to be fine.
The two tow drivers did not have to be transferred.
One of the wreckers told ABC13 reporter Courtney Fischer that he injured his knee but would wait until tomorrow to have it checked out by a doctor.
Crime scene video shows the HPD officer being loaded into an ambulance while holding his arm above his head.
Officials said it did not appear the driver of the Honda was intoxicated, although they would likely receive a traffic summons over the accident.
A second HPD officer was injured around 1:40 a.m. Friday in the northbound lanes of the West Loop near I-69.
Police said the officer used her cruiser with emergency lights activated to block traffic after a previous accident when the driver of an Acura RDX crashed into her.
Investigators believe the driver was drunk.
Police said the rider was home from the rodeo at the time of the accident.
Investigators said the officer was struck with significant injuries but is expected to be fine.
