Houston crime: The driver who was shot may have been mugged after dropping off a friend on Nance Street, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Houston police are investigating whether a driver was mugged when he was shot in his car.

Police said the driver dropped off a friend on Nance Street in north Houston around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A gunman then allegedly approached him and opened fire as he sat in his car.

The victim managed to drive a few blocks to the 4500 block of Wylie Street near Liberty to get help from family.

He was shot in the arm and side and taken to hospital in critical condition, according to police.

Police had no description of the shooter or a known motive for the shooting.
