Houston Crime: HPD is searching for driver who fled after hitting and killing Hector Emilio Mateo-Suar in Westchase area

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Police are asking the public for help in locating a driver accused of hitting and killing a man before fleeing the scene in the Westchase area.

The crash occurred on Tuesday, February 15.

Houston Police said the victim, identified as Hector Emilio Mateo-Suar, was struck by a dark-colored SUV with tinted windows at around 11:25 p.m. as he was crossing the street at Block 11400 of Harwin Drive

Police said the suspect was speeding as they drove on the eastbound lane. The driver fled the scene of the accident without assistance.

Unfortunately, Mateo-Suar died from the injuries he sustained.

Now his family is asking the community for help in identifying the suspect responsible for his murder.
