Houston crime: HPD is searching for a man they say stole a woman’s tax refund money and then shot it in her SE Houston hotel room

The incident happened at 12:30 p.m. on March 27 at Block 9000 of Airport Boulevard. At the time, the woman said she was staying in a hotel.
She told police she recently met a man she only knew as “Junior” who walked into her hotel room. The woman said she recently cashed her tax refund, and Junior asked if he could borrow $200, which police say she agreed to.
Once in her room, Junior pulled out a gun and demanded all her money back. He then took her money and as he left he turned and fired several shots, police said.
Surveillance video from the scene captured the moment the suspect entered the woman’s room and when he walked out again and started shooting at her door as he walked down the stairs.
He then fled the scene of the crime to an unknown location.
Police described the suspect as a black man walking past Junior. He is said to be between 28 and 35 years old. He was wearing a dark jacket and shorts and was armed with a pistol.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
