Houston crime: 5 people shot as scuffle at Spivey’s Uptown in Third District spills into parking lot

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Five people were shot outside a popular bar early Thursday morning in Third District.

Police say they received a call around 1 a.m. that several people had been shot outside Spivey’s Uptown on Blodgett and Ennis.

Officials told ABC13 it all started with a brawl inside the bar that spilled out onto the street.

Five people were injured: one fought back, one was shot in the hand; two men were shot in the leg; one man was shot in the pelvis and a fifth man.

It is not clear where on the body the fifth man was injured, but the one shot in the pelvis is in the most critical condition.

Everyone is expected to survive.

No one was arrested.

Police are investigating whether any of those shot should be considered a suspect.

Investigators are looking at surveillance video to see who started the fight or fired the first shot.
