Houston crime: 2 men arrested and charged with stealing $9,000 worth of catalytic converters and chainsaws, congressman says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Delegates are warning shoppers about catalytic converter thieves over the holiday season after they said they arrested two men Friday for stealing six catalytic converter and two saws worth about $9,000.

Four Harris County police deputies were called to the Houston Premium Outlets in section 29000 of the NW Freeway, where they found two men fleeing the scene.

During a traffic stop, deputies identified these men as Demarion Sanders and Daviyon Washington.

Delegates said adapters were stolen from vehicles at the mall and nearby businesses.

Sanders and Washington were arrested and charged with metal theft.

Constable Mark Herman said their relationship has not yet been established.
