Houston Community College seeks to hire new trustee after former member resigns after pleading guilty in HISD bribery case

The video above is from an earlier story.
Back in December, former commissioner Rhonda Skillern Jones resigned after pleading guilty to accepting bribes during her time as Houston’s ISD commissioner. Jones does not condone any wrongdoing at HCC.
Skillern Jones is the second HCC trustee to resign due to corruption allegations. Chris Oliver, a former commissioner, stepped down from the HISD board after being convicted of bribery in 2017. The documents show that Oliver received cash in paper bags to influence HCC contracts.
Now, HCC is working to fill her seat. Candidates wishing to apply have until Friday, January 21.
Anyone who wants to register, can access HCC website.
