We’re now less than a month away from the Horizon Forbidden West release date, which means some lingering questions fans have about the title are finally starting to come to light. And while we’ve seen some new trailers for the game over the course of the past week, we now know how much space it will take up on PlayStation 5 post-launch.
Thanks to a new tweet from PlayStation Game Size, a Twitter account dedicated to tracking backend information that appeared on the PlayStation Store, Horizon Forbidden West will weigh in at 85,913 GB for those in the US. In contrast, the European version of the game currently has a total capacity of 96,350 GB. The reason each version is slightly different in size is because the European Union iteration serves a larger market where more language options are available. So those extra languages add about 10GB to the game by comparison.

While this information certainly gives us a good idea of how much space we will need to free up to download Horizon Forbidden West on PS5, it should be emphasized that this size may not be official yet. The reason is because this is just the base size of the game without any additional updates. Given the popularity of patches for nearly all video games, chances are that Horizon Forbidden West will actually be a bit larger than we’ve seen today. So maybe freeing up a bit more space on your own SSD to work around this.
All in all, Horizon Forbidden West is finally set to launch next month on February 18 and will be coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
