‘He’s so underrated’: Ferguson believes West Ham could sign Manchester United engine in January

Barry Ferguson believes Scott McTominay could move from Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United to David Moyes’ West Ham United in January.
The former Scotland midfielder believes Scott McTominay needs to think about his playing time ahead of Euro 2024 in Germany – Scotland now has every chance of qualifying.
Additionally, Ferguson believes summer transfer target West Ham United, who are joint top scorers in Euro 2024 qualifying, is “so underrated”, as he said Go radio.
Just seven minutes. That’s the amount of time ten Hag has given McTomiany this season.
Given that West Ham United were interested in the player, one has to wonder why they just didn’t let him go.
With Sofyan Amrabat joining the club on loan on transfer deadline day, one can imagine this hurting McTominay’s chances of playing and, as a result, heading towards a January exit.

Will Scott McTominay leave in January?
“I think he’s so underrated, Scott McTominay,” Ferguson said. “Brilliant size in the middle of the pitch. He also did a good job in defense for Scotland. I really like him.
“Manchester United needs a player like this at this moment. I can’t believe he doesn’t get any insight.
“He needs to take a serious look at this. If he doesn’t get a lot of playing time, he has to go somewhere. Even if it lasts until the end of the season in January.
“There are a number of clubs that would take Scott McTominay. What were they talking about with West Ham over £35-40m? If clubs aren’t willing to do that, I’m sure he’ll have to sit down with the coach and say, ‘Listen, I have to think about Germany.’ Is there a chance I’ll be sent out on loan?’

Would McTominay get game time at West Ham?
Declan Rice’s money was spent and a number of players from across Europe were added to David Moyes’ squad.
Two of them are Edson Alvarez from Ajax and James Ward-Prowse from relegated Southampton, the latter having started like a house on fire.
Don’t forget Tomas Soucek, Moyes’ favorite. So you can imagine that if McTominay came in he would have a number of players in front of him unless West Ham struggle in January, which only makes a potential move more likely.
