Could Katherine Heigl Finally Get Her Redemption Story?

The former Grey’s Anatomy actress – who was that? “blacklisted” by Hollywood amid claims she was “difficult” and “unprofessional” – is now being praised by her former co-star Ellen Pompeo.

Heigl, 43, starred alongside Pompeo, 52, in six seasons of the ABC medical drama before leaving the series in 2010 after publicly complaining about long hours on set.

“I remember Heigl saying something on a talk show about the crazy hours we worked — and she was 100% right,” Pompeo said in a new episode of her podcast on Wednesday. “Tell me about Ellen Pompeo.”

“If she had said that today, she would have been an absolute hero,” Pompeo continued. “But she’s ahead of her time. [She] made a statement about our crazy hours and of course we slammed a woman and called her ungrateful.

Heigl left the show the following year amid allegations that she was constantly conflicts with managers.

Before leaving Grey’s Anatomy, Heigl’s film career thrived with roles in hit films like Knocked Up, 27 Dresses and Life As We Know It.

However, the actress’ career suffered after her exit from Grey’s Anatomy, according to a producer The Hollywood Reporter in a 2013 article that it was “difficult” and “not worth it.”

Last year, Heigl hit back with a profile the washington post, about how her career had suffered as a result of her public grievances.

The outspoken star refused to be silenced, adding: “What’s your definition of difficult? Someone with an opinion you don’t like? … That makes me puke.”
