On November 9, Brian Williams announced that he’s giving up his mooring position at “The 11 Hour With Brian Williams” to start a new chapter in his life, according to washington articles. He did not say whether the new chapter was professional or personal. However, a month after the final episode of “The 11th Hour” aired, the messenger was both emotional and introspective at his final sign and it concerned the state of America and the political divisions caused in 2021.
“My biggest worry is for my country,” Williams said (via Yahoo! News). “I’m not a liberal or a conservative. I’m an institutionalist. I believe in this place. And with my love for my country, I yield to no one, but the darkness within. the edge of town has spread to the roads and highways and neighborhoods.” Williams said of people who took an oath to the United States Constitution, but who apparently didn’t.
“Mature men and women who were sworn to our constitution, elected by our voters, possessing the kinds of college degrees I could only dream of have decided to join the crowd and become something they are not, hopefully we somehow forget who they are,” said Williams. “They decided to burn it all down with us inside. . That would scare you as much as it would an old volunteer firefighter.”
