“He looks a little awkward”: Gary Neville explains what he noticed about the Tottenham attacker

Gary Neville noticed that Richarlison looked “a bit awkward” as he tried to play on his left foot during Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 win over nine-man Liverpool on Saturday.

While Richarlison had a tough life under Antonio Conte last season following his record transfer for the club, he is now starting to find his feet at Tottenham under the more attacking Ange Postecoglou.

The Brazil international set up Tottenham’s opener against Liverpool, which came via Son Heung-min’s foot, with Gary Neville feeling he was, as he said, a constant “danger” against the Reds Sky Sports Premier League (09/30/23 at 6:55 p.m.).

Given his Everton past, Richarlison’s first Premier League goal of his Spurs career naturally came at Anfield.

But that moment collapsed when Spurs lost the game in stoppage time.

While Liverpool fans enjoyed this moment last season, it was Richarlison who was jumping for joy at the weekend, as that now takes him to two assists and a goal from his last two home games.

Gary Neville on Richarlison

“He did well out there, Richarlison,” Neville said. “He looks a bit awkward on his left foot, but he still poses a threat.”

Richarlison could be Ange Postecoglou’s biggest success story

In terms of importance and quality, there are other players like James Maddison and Yves Bissouma who are better than Richarlison and far more important.

But that doesn’t mean the ex-Everton man can’t be Ange Postecoglou’s biggest success story.

The fact is that he is currently considered a flop in the football world. But if he can change all that, his stock will seriously go through the roof.
