HBO series creators react as shows are summarily removed from HBO Max

Those looking to rewatch multiple HBO shows have been stunned by the news that they are being removed from the service where they are available.

On Monday (December 12), it was announced that HBO Max would be removing several titles from its service.

The decision, led by the service’s owner Warner Bros Discovery, followed announcements that every show had also been cancelled.

In the meantime, The Nevers was also canceled in the middle of the first season, although filming for the second part had already been completed.

Corresponding diversityWarner Bros Discovery removed the shows because the company would have had to pay residuals to the cast and crew of each project if they had stayed on the streamer.

Rapoport wrote on Twitter: “Obviously I’m disappointed bitch (along with several other shows to be announced) is leaving HBO Max. I’m proud of the show we’ve made and confident that audiences will come to our new home with us. Thank you to the best cast and crew in the business.”

“The Nevers” was canceled by HBO

The news follows the controversy surrounding the original HBO Max film bat girlwhich was discontinued despite completion in August.

It was claimed that the film was set to hit theaters despite being made for HBO Max but was considered “uncollectible” in the eyes of studio bosses.

This followed reports that the film had gone over budget by more than $40 million.

Leading Actor Leslie Grace, who played the lead role Barbara Gordon, and the film’s directors, bad boys for life Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah expressed their shock at the news in respective statements.

There have been several rumors surrounding Warner Bros’ decision, but a spokesman said at the time: “The decision not to publish bat girl reflects the strategic shift in our leadership towards the DC Universe and HBO Max.”
