Havertz converted the penalty in extra time to send the Blues into the field for the Club World Cup
CHELSEA had to go into extra time as they managed to win a trophy having succumbed to Palmeiras in the Club World Cup final.
Romelu Lukaku headed home the goal in the second half to break the stubborn resistance of the Brazilian players.
But Thiago Silva let the ball touch his hand to give Brazil a penalty, which was converted successfully by Bruno Veiga.
However, Chelsea had a penalty of their own after a handball from Palmeiras late in extra time, which Kai Havertz converted.
