‘Have they’: Gary Neville scoffed ahead of Salford loss amid transfer rumors of two Leeds players

Gary Neville aimed a taunt at Luis Sinisterra and Wilfried Gnonto before Leeds United were knocked out of the EFL Cup by Salford City.

As former Leeds player Michael Bridges spoke about how “important” both players are to Daniel Farke’s side amid problems off the pitch over their future.

A certain Gary Neville couldn’t help but reply, “Did you show up tonight?” as he put it Sky Sports Football (08/29/23 at 7:10 p.m.).

It wasn’t all that long ago that Wilfried Gnonto refused to play for the club because he wanted to secure a transfer from the club – Agbonlahor criticized his actions at the time.

While Luis Sinisterra was also absent for a while, having featured and scoring a goal on the opening day of the new league season.

With the transfer window still open it all seemed settled, but Neville couldn’t help but poke fun at the situation.

“Sinisterra and Willy Gnonto, there’s been a lot of things off the field lately,” Bridges said. “Willy Gnonto is such an important player for Leeds United.

Neville replied, “Did you show up tonight?”

Bridges added: “They’re delighted they showed up. They sorted out all their differences off the field, Gary. You will be happy to know.”

Leeds suffer a defeat against Salford

In the end, it wasn’t a great night for Leeds as they were thrown out of the EFL Cup to the League Two side after a penalty shootout.

If the Whites were still a Premier League team, fans probably would have been more upset.

But considering that promotion is a top priority, that’s one less reason for the team to worry.
