Hasan Explains Why Twitch Streamers “Can’t Be Open” About Their Dating Life

Twitch streamer Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker has been candid about the struggles he and other content creators face when dating.

Streamers are regularly asked about their personal lives by fans, with a particularly recurring theme being their dating lives.

Although some streamers are open about their relationships, others keep them secret so that some parts of their lives remain private. However, it can also be to protect your partner from the pressure of being in the public eye, especially if it’s not a celebrity.

Now popular streamer Hasan claims streamers “can never be frank” about their love life as it would be sparked by “psychotic” fans.

In addition to speaking about his private life, Hasan also claimed that streamers regularly deal with stalkers.

Hasan on the difficulties of dating as a streamer

Hasan was responding to Pokimane’s interview with Anthony Padilla on May 13 when her comments attempting to date as a streamer prompted Hasan to open up about his own experience.

Despite streamers being in the public eye all the time, the 30-year-old explained why they should keep their dating lives private.

“As a Twitch streamer, you just can’t ever be open about shit like that,” Hasan claimed. This is because it provokes attacks from “psychotic” trolls on the internet.

He also explained that it’s no different for streamers who are dating another creator, saying that “everything should be kept private.”

Hasan claims streamers can’t date “Normans.”

During his stream, Hasan Pokimane agreed that it can be difficult for developers to date people outside of the streaming community as it exposes them to troll attacks. However, it can be just as difficult for those who are dating another streamer.

“You can’t date ‘Normans’ if you’re a Twitch streamer because you’re literally opening them up to doxxing and harassment campaigns because people can’t hold each other,” Hasan said. “You can’t date another content creator because then you have two psychotic fandoms working together.”

Hasan admitted how lucky he is to be a streamer and the job certainly has many perks. But according to him, balancing a hugely successful streaming career and love life isn’t part of it.
