Harry and Meghan asked if they ‘put money before family’

Big Apple tourists Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were bluntly asked if they “put money before family” just hours before the release of their bombshell documentary series.
The exiled royals were peppered with questions about the Netflix special, which is due to start streaming on Thursday, as they arrived at the Midtown Hilton late Tuesday to receive a racial justice award.
“Do you have a message for your family, Harry?” The 38-year-old son of King Charles II was asked by a reporter as he posed on the red carpet.
“Are you harming your family, Harry?” asked the same reporter.
After posing for snaps, Harry and Meghan walked away to get the event started – and faced even tougher questioning from other reporters.
“Harry, do you put money before family – do you put money before family?” a reporter asked loudly.
Unimpressed, Harry just smiled as he left and said “so many questions” – without offering any answers.
His wife, 41, also smiled as she walked behind the prince and held his hand.
Instead of questions about the Netflix series or its painful split from the rest of the royal family — including claims of racism — Markle was asked by a female reporter, “Where’s your dress from?”

The red carpet excitement came as the California-based couple arrived in the Big Apple for the high-profile visit, before the docuseries was set to deliver a barrage of painful allegations of press intrusion and bullying in the monarchy.
The reclusive couple tried to laugh at their latest high-profile performance when they finally took the stage at the star-studded Ripple of Hope Gala, where they chatted with Bobby Kennedy’s daughter, Kerry Kennedy.
“To be honest, Kerry, I actually thought we only had one date night, so I thought it was kinda weird that we’re sharing the room with 1,500 people,” Harry said to a roar of laughter.
“We don’t get out much because our kids are so small and young – so it’s totally unexpected,” he quipped.
Addressing the audience, he said, “Nice to share date night with you all — thanks for coming.”
Laughing, Markle continued the theme and said to her prince, “Thank you for bringing me to this very special date night.”
The couple spoke of “breaking down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance”. However, they haven’t directly addressed their upcoming Netflix series or the firestorm it’s sparked.
