Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy falls while chasing a suspect with a slingshot motorcycle

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A deputy fell while chasing a suspect with a slingshot in northeast Harris County, authorities say.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the chase began just before 2:30 a.m. Monday and lasted nearly 21 miles.

It all started in the Beltway and JFK Boulevard area, just west of Highway 59.

The sheriff’s office says the driver even attempted to drive onto a golf course.

During the chase, the deputy lost control.

Nobody was injured.

The sheriff’s office said it didn’t know the reason for the initial stoppage or why the suspect, who now likely faces crime, fled.
