Sandhu defeated 79 other contestants, including 1st runner-up Miss Paraguay Nadia Ferreira and 2nd runner-up Miss South Africa Lalela Mswane, to win the prestigious title.
The previous Miss Universe, Andrea Meza of Mexico, crowned Sandhu at the event, which was streamed live globally.
In Israel, the competition was held at midnight, ending at 5 a.m. local time (4 a.m. local time) to match the gold schedule in the US.
The competition, hosted by US television personality Steve Harvey, featured performances of national, evening, and traditional swimsuits, as well as a series of interview questions to test public speaking skills. of the candidates.
