Halle Berry Squid makes a deal with Netflix to participate and produce more movies

Halle Berry Keep punching her way to the top. Elevating the success of her breakthrough directorial film Bruises, the actress has signed with Netflix for a new series that she will star in and produce, Diversity report. According to the streaming service, Bruises Not only did it hit #1 in the United States this week, but it also earned the #2 title of top English-language film worldwide, spanning the top pick in more than 70 countries.
The film, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, follows the life of UFC fighter Jackie “Pretty Bull” Justice (Berry). Jackie has been away from the professional world for many years but has returned to the ring to reclaim his name and career. While trying to bounce back and regain her lost sense of self, her estranged young son, Manny (Danny Boyd), back into the warrior’s life. The one-time champion must now not only juggle back into combat, but also take on a particularly difficult motherhood.
Her work on Bruises and partnering with the streaming service’s movie head, Scott Stuberand co-CEO Ted Sarandos, the Academy Award-winning Berry said, “My first time as a director, Bruises, is a work of love and I know that Scott and Ted will treat it with great care. The Netflix team is not only collaborative and creative, but incredibly passionate and a pleasure to work with. I am extremely grateful for the partnership and look forward to telling more stories together. ”
Stuber responded to the praise and gratitude by adding, “There are very few people who have had a career like Halle Berry. She’s an award-winning actress, producer, and as we’ve seen this past week, she’s an incredible director. We are delighted to be in her corner as she powers in front and behind the camera in Bruised and look forward to telling more stories together. ”
Fans of Monster’s Ball The actress will also be delighted to hear that Berry has been signed on to appear in two upcoming productions that will happen in addition to the newly signed deal. Berry will executive produce and star Motherhood, a new sci-fi feature under the direction of Matt Charman who also wrote the movie. She is also about to appear in Our man from New Jersey starring opposite Mark Wahlberg in what has been described as a “blue-collar James Bond” film.
