‘Grape Release’ Bill Could Remove Size Limits on Wine Bottles in Florida

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – The Republican Representative at Lighthouse Point, Chip LaMarca, is sponsoring a “grape emancipation” bill.

Currently, you cannot sell alcohol in containers more than one gallon. This measure would remove the size limit of wine bottles in the sunlit state.

Local liquor store owners say they don’t think it will affect sales for their business. However, they think it will be beneficial for those who want to organize a big party or event. They also believe it can benefit bars and restaurants.

The House of Representatives passed it almost unanimously by a vote of 117-1.
