BALTIMORE (WJZ) – Governor Larry Hogan on Monday said he is experiencing “some cold-like symptoms” after testing positive for COVID-19.
The governor said in a morning tweet that the positive result came from a rapid test he performed as part of his routine testing regimen. Monday afternoon, Hogan said a PCR test confirmed the infection.

Health officials reported Monday that 1,345 people were hospitalized with COVID-19, for the 11th day in a row Maryland topped 1,000 hospitalizations.
Again, Hogan urged Maryland residents to get the COVID-19 vaccine and booster shots if they haven’t already done so.
“When the Omicron variant becomes dominant, I would recommend getting vaccinated or booster shots as soon as possible,” he said.
Members of the governor’s staff tested positive throughout the summer, but Hogan and Lieutenant General Boyd Rutherford were not among them.
This morning, as part of my regular testing routine, I received a positive COVID-19 rapid test result. I have been vaccinated and boosted, and I feel fine at the moment.
