GOP lawmakers called Twitter’s post censorship ‘watershed’ for Big Tech

Republican lawmakers called Twitter’s suppression of The Post’s groundbreaking laptop story the “watershed moment” of big tech shortly after the social media giant was censored.
The remarks, published in internal emails released Friday and shared by Twitter CEO Elon Musk, came after 12 members of Congress, including nine GOPers, were informed informally by NetChoice, a lobbying firm for big tech companies like Twitter. Meta, TikTok, Google had been polled shortly after the synopsis was censored.
“Takeaway at a high level — every Republican said, ‘This is a game changer. It’s just too much,'” This was announced by NetChoice boss Carl Szabo Twitter’s public policy chief Lauren Culbertson warned in an email that the social media company could face a “bloodbath” at congressional hearings, according to journalist Matt Taibbi’s internal email.

“Tech is screwed and rightly so,” one of the lawmakers’ staffers is quoted as saying in an email.
The identities of the politicians or their associates were not released, but the email claimed they ranged from members of the House Judiciary Committee to Rep. Judy Chu’s office.
