Ghetts, Dave and Little Simz win the UK MOBO Awards

LONDON (Reuters) – Rappers Ghetts, Little Simz and Dave won at this year’s UK MOBO Awards, the accolade returning with its first live show in four years.
Held on Sunday night in the British city of Coventry, MOBOs, which celebrate Music of Black Origin, saw London-born Dave go viral for album of the year with his No. re All Alone In This Together”.
Ghetts won Best Actor while Little Simz won Best Actress. Tion Wayne and Russ Millions won Song of the Year with their remix of “Body” while rapper Central Cee won Best Newcomer and Best Performance.
Other winners include Skepta for ugliest act and actor Michael Ward, who gave a best performance in a TV show/movie for his role as Franklyn on “Small Ax,” a show tells the stories of West Indian immigrants in London during the 1960s-1980s.
The annual MOBO, which began in 1996, was interrupted in 2017 and was held mostly last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
