“Get him in”: West Ham United have been tipped to sign the in-demand 27-year-old from their London rivals

Owen Hargreaves has tipped David Moyes’ West Ham United to sign in-demand Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

On Sunday, West Ham United were beaten 4-1 by Aston Villa, with Michail Antonio coming under the spotlight for another questionable performance.

The 33-year-old is no longer a spring chicken as 31-year-old Danny Ings is the club’s backup option, while summer signing Mohammed Kudus can play that role, but he is better off on the wing or at the back.

Whatever the case, it got Owen Hargreaves talking about West Ham United’s number nine role as he thinks Ivan Toney is “screaming” at the club to sign, as he said Premier League Productions (10/22/23 at 7:10 p.m.).

The problem the Hammers will face is that the 27-year-old’s current ban is coming to an end January 16ththen numerous Premier League clubs want to sign him.

One of them is Premier League title contender Arsenalwho, given his current position, would probably be at the top of the Englishman’s list if he came knocking.

Ivan Toney to West Ham?

“Ivan Toney is the one screaming,” Hargreaves said. “Benrahma can play on the left. Kudus can exploit any of these wide ranges.

“I think Moyes has the players. Maybe get a Toney in if you could. But I just think you have to bring Kudus into the team and then allow Paqueta to play centrally. He’s definitely their best player.”

Ivan Toney would be perfect for West Ham

Considering West Ham sold Declan Rice, the club’s best player, in a club record transfer this summer, they did pretty well to replace him.

In fact, aside from the weaker result, they have started the new season really well, both in the Premier League and in Europe, and their summer signings have contributed to that.

But if they somehow manage to sign a player like Toney then it would be a serious, serious coup on the part of those in charge at the London Stadium.

Toney would be perfect for the Hammers and a much, much better version than Antonio.

Whether it’s Toney or someone else, one thing is certain: this striker needs to be upgraded for West Ham as quickly as possible.
