The statement read: “There is a lot of noise surrounding the Ricketts family and protesting their possible ownership of Chelsea.
“From what we have heard and read so far, we feel as strongly as many of the Ricketts family.
“To be clear, we do not want anyone associated with racism, homophobia, Islamophobia, sexism or any other bigoted views towards ethnic minorities, marginalized communities or the LGBTQ+ community to run our club.
“The message we want to send directly to Tom Ricketts, members of his family and Ken Griffin is clear: distance yourself from fanatics or distance yourself from Chelsea.
“We have urged anyone who disagrees with the Ricketts family’s offer for Chelsea to bring their own homemade banners, large or small, to Stamford Bridge on Saturday against Brentford and hold them up as the team steps onto the pitch.
“This isn’t an attack on the team, but the Ricketts family is very likely to be watching and it’s the easiest time to coordinate everyone and get TV/movie coverage.”
