Gerrit Cole shares a sweet family snap ahead of Yankees Opening Day

Gerrit Cole is counting down opening day in the Bronx.
On Monday, the Yankees ace posted a collection of spring training photos to Instagram, including a sweet snap of wife Amy and their two young sons, Caden and Everett, hanging out at the dugout in Tampa, Fla.
“Another spring in the books,” Cole, 32, captioned the post.

Cole will start Thursday when the Yankees open the 2023 season at home against the Giants.
The game will be something of a family affair for Cole as his brother-in-law, Brandon Crawford, is the shortstop for San Francisco’s opening day.
Thursday also marks Cole’s fourth opening day for the Yankees, who have won two of the top three.

After two seasons with the Astros, he signed a monster 9-year, $324 million contract with the team in 2019.
The Yankees made the ALCS last season and were defeated by the Astros in four games.
Houston won the World Series after beating the Phillies in Game 6.

Despite a disappointing end to the 2022 season, the Coles had plenty to celebrate in early 2023.
In January, Amy confirmed that she and Cole had welcomed their second child, son Everett.
“The newest love of our lives,” Amy gushed on Instagram, where she revealed his date of birth on Jan. 2.

Days after Everett’s birth, Amy posted an adorable video of her and Cole’s eldest son, 2-year-old Caden, falling in love with his little brother.
Amy confirmed her second pregnancy in September during Yankees Family Day.
“Our littlest Cole will be hatching into our home soon! Due on ball drop,” she shared at the time.
The Coles have been married since 2016.
