George RR Martin used house of the dragon repair game of Thrones.

The author of the source material for both shows has long been vocal about his involvement throneswhich ended in 2019.

While Martin served as a consultant for the series, showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss outplayed the still-unfinished writer A Song of Ice and Fire book series to deliver a finale that was much ridiculed by fans.

Martin has revealed he was brought in to help produce house of the dragon, a spin-off centered on House Targaryen; It takes place more than 150 years before the events of thrones.

house of the dragon Showrunners Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik have revealed that Martin stepped in to offer his views on certain things he wanted to include on the show – and it’s noted that the version of the Iron Throne shown on the series is more likely to come with Martin’s description of the books is more consistent than that in game of Thrones ever was.

In a 2013 blog post, as highlighted by polygonMartin explained that HBO designed the Iron Throne wrong.

He wrote that “the HBO throne” is “none of them.” [the] Things,” he described, adding, “It’s big, yes, but not nearly as big as the one described in the novels. And for a good reason. We have a huge throne room in Belfast, but not nearly big enough to hold the Iron Throne as I painted it.”

According to the author, the Iron Throne should “tower over the room like a large animal”.

He reportedly said in 2014, “It’s asymmetrical. It is assembled by blacksmiths, not craftsmen and furniture-making experts. You have to walk the iron steps and when a king sits on it, he’s about 10 feet above everyone else. He’s in that elevated position, looking down on everyone.”

This is a proof that Martin uses house of the dragon to correct the inaccuracies contained therein game of Thrones — and in his own way regaining a control he never really had during the original series.
