Genshin Impact players are obsessed with new character Yelan for bizarre reasons

Genshin Impact fans are loving the newly announced character Yelan. Hours after HoYoverse revealed them, players became obsessed with the hero’s design for the strangest of reasons.

With the 2.6 update days post-release, Genshin Impact fans have been surprised as to when HoYover also revealed the new character Yelan in version 2.7.

Her design started trending globally on Twitter after it was announced due to players bizarrely obsessing over her armpits.

The new hero was announced in a March 28 tweet on Genshin Impact’s official social media account. The Twitter post included a short description and profile picture of the version 2.7 character.

However, it was Yelan’s design that immediately caught the attention of gacha RPG fans. Oddly enough, while many praised HoYoverse for its wild design, other users were fixated on the character’s armpits – yes, you read that right.

The strange obsession quickly went viral on Twitter, even sparking the trending hashtag #ArmpitImpact with thousands of people posting about it.

The popular site was filled with tweets about the new Genshin Impact hero’s armpits.

“Armpit Impact LEAVES GOOOOO. No draw for Kamisato Ayato CONFIRMED!” wrote one user.

Another tweeted, “Your armpit is brighter than my future.” One fan even exclaimed, “Glory to the armpits.”

The odd pit obsession overshadowed the announcement for some players who reacted to the community’s bizarre Yelan reaction.

“I can’t believe you are simplifying a drawing of a character who is still balanced,” one Twitter user posted.

Others weren’t too keen on the character’s design. “She seriously doesn’t look like she belongs in a game like Genshin Impact,” reads one post.

Yelan’s armpits also sparked a wave of memes, with users creating fake deodorant ads featuring her image. This is also not the first time the Genshin Impact community has become obsessed with a character’s looks, e.g. B. from players who fixate on Diluc’s “emotional” look.

Strange trends aside, the new hero will debut in version 2.7. Their banner should go live around May 11th, 2022, which will give fans plenty of time to save up those Primogems.
