The 40-year-old will face off against WBA champion Murata, who is four years his junior.

Golovkin insists his age will not matter in this huge title fight.

He told PA: “There are pros and cons that come with age.

“I see all changes positively. I’m getting smarter, I’m getting more experienced and age gives me an added advantage.

“Time flies by and the older you get, the faster it goes. I’m still sticking to my traditional approach to training and when we get in the ring we will see the results.

I wouldn’t name a specific goal that I’m still trying to achieve.

“I have achieved a lot in my career and learned a lot. I feel very comfortable in my current position.

I’ve been boxing almost my entire life. I feel in great shape and if there is demand, if there are interesting offers, you will still see me in the ring.”
