The TOWIE legend ‘feels lucky’ to have Christmas Eve with his father after admitting to being hurt by his father, Alan’s Covid battle last Christmas.
Posting a picture on her Instagram showing Alan reading a book to a youngster in his lap at Gemma’s £1.3million Essex property, the star counted her blessings .
“A BEST Christmas Eve 💫☃️❄️☃️ we will never forget last Christmas but feel so lucky to have dad here 💫❄️💫,” she captioned the touching post.
Gemma’s fans congratulated her on having her dad around and wished them a Merry Christmas.
One excited fan wrote: “So happy to see you guys wishing you all a Merry Christmas xxxx”.
Another added: “Sending love xxx This will be the 5th time I thought I would never see this day ‘xmas with my dad. So grateful. Xxx’
And a third commented: “Amen to that Gem 🙏❤️ Merry Christmas!”
Gemma recently told how 12 months later she often sheds tears in public as she talks about how she almost lost her father.
Speaking to The Sun, Gemma said: “My dad almost got through last Christmas with Covid.
“He gets stronger every day. He’s very uplifting but he has to follow strict orders – I just let him work three days a week now.
“Long Covid was not a five-minute story. It was a journey. I was traumatized by it. I continue to reminisce now.
“I would be in the middle of the street or the store and suddenly I would start crying and my mom would be like ‘are you okay?’
“I can’t believe what happened this time last year.”
While the past year has been difficult for both Gemma and all of her family, the bigger-than-life TV star admits it has given her a new perspective on life.
Wanting to cherish every moment, Gemma has teamed up with Sainsbury’s to go all out and make sure this Christmas is her most special Christmas yet.
She continued: “I will stick to my father like glue. He will want to run away from me.
“For me, this year we are spending a lot of time with our family.
“I ran out of stock this year and I asked the waiter to make sure I didn’t burn the turkey or sprouts.”
Gemma also shows off her amazing decorations
Kicking off the tour, the ITV star showed off her wooden pergola for the first time, wrapped in bright lights, red bows and a festive pine wreath.
Elsewhere at her £1.3million Essex property, Gemma’s pines and boxwoods are also enveloped in rows of LED lights.
Adding a bit of wildlife to the area, the reality TV star lit up reindeer and a life-size giant elephant as well as piles of dazzling snowballs.
