Galveston Police said no human remains were found on Avenue P1/2 after the tip

GALVESTON, Texas (KTRK) — Nearly a week after reports of human remains being found in Galveston, police said none were found at the scene.

The video above is from a previous story.

On March 3, police responded to the 2300 block of P1/2 Avenue after receiving a tip that remains were at the scene.

Although no human remains were found, police said some items were recovered and are being investigated further.

In an update on Tuesday, police said investigators had determined that a man was found dead in the same area in December 1996. They wanted to rule out any possibility of another potential victim.

After further investigation, authorities said it was determined that no remains were found.
