Galleria Shooting: Police are working with mall management to step up security following a shooting on Saturday

A 28-year-old man was shot in the leg in the parking lot outside Shake Shack on Saturday.
In March, a man was killed in the Galleria parking garage, but Turner calls the mall a “priority area” for police.
“The Galleria is probably the last place anyone would want to do anything illegal or engage in criminal activity,” Turner said.
Police are investigating an unconfirmed video on social media and are hoping to gain leads as to who is responsible for Saturday’s shooting.
Turner said they are working with mall management to add more cameras and beef up patrols with both uniformed and undercover officers.
“We have strengthened and we will continue to strengthen,” said Turner. “In addition to the police presence, both in uniform and in uniform, there will be people in the Galleria area pretending to shop. There will be people in public spaces who don’t wear uniforms.”
We have contacted the mall management multiple times for details on increased security but have not received a response.
