Fuslie reveals hateful GTA RP messages that make her cry at least “once a month”.

GTA RP streamer Leslie ‘Fuslie’ Fu has revealed the devastating impact hateful messages she receives from viewers are having on her life.

With 1.2 million followers on Twitch, 100 Thieves star Fuslie has made a name for herself as one of the community’s most popular streamers.

Initially interested in streaming League of Legends, she soon became hooked on Grand Theft Auto role play and speeding through the streets of Los Santos as her red-haired alter ego, April Fooze.

But despite her love for her alternative GTA lifestyle, Fuslie has admitted that the amount of hateful comments she receives online from trolls is taking its toll. So much so that she “cries” regularly.

Fuslie describes the “stressful” messages from trolls

In conversation with Refinery29Fuslie gave a deep dive into her life as a GTA RP streamer and how the game mode has become such a big part of her life. After all, not only has April Fooze’s life in Los Santos become particularly compelling for fans, but she’s even found life with her outside of the game own songs on Spotify.

While there’s certainly a lot to balance for Fuslie as a roleplayer, she explained that it’s the trolls in her chat that cause her the most stress. “I cry in front of RP about once a month because I’m so stressed out by the viewers.”

Fuslie’s comments follow the 29-year-old saying she was feeling “burned out” playing GTA RP and was considering taking a step back from the game.

Fuslie says fans help her stand up to trolls

While some viewers left her stressed out after her GTA RP streams, Fuslie explained that it’s the kind words from her fans that help her keep going, saying she’s “gonna take a little bit of the heat or whatever to make it a more comfortable space for everyone.”

“My favorite comment is from viewers saying, ‘Hey, I was too scared to use voice communication in my games, but now I see you and your friends, I see all the girls talking, that I started, in my games to speak. To have played any part in it is worth it. It’s so worth all the negativity.โ€

Streamers are used to regular scrutiny from trolls and have openly criticized those who would make such comments. However, Fuslie has proven that hate doesn’t stop her from doing what she loves.
