I KNOW people are counting down the days to Christmas – I’ll bookmark them for the next 24 hours.
Unfortunately, they don’t do a Gift Day adventure calendar, but it was a big one for us… King George was at Kempton, when Frodon won the double.
I can tell you he was definitely in great spirits and very boisterous when I galloped him in Wincanton on Wednesday.
Put it this way, my arms are a bit longer in the evening than in the morning!
Frode was the one who galloped me rather than the other way around.
He really enjoyed himself and was great.
The finger through all systems is for Kempton, although there have obviously been quite a few trips before that.
Two of them are at Ascot this afternoon, starting with Dolos in the handicap chase.

He always gives you everything, but unfortunately that means he doesn’t get any mercy from the disabled and burdened again.
Dolos is happy to be out there and one day he WILL get his big moment back at some stage.
Paul Nicholls also runs Diego Du Charmil and hopefully we can join in and give everyone something to cheer for.
Then I’m joining Onemorefortheroad in the Betfair Exchange handicap, it’s a lovely pony we’ve been thinking about since its bountiful days.
EVERYTHING UP TO CONTRIBUTION DAY
All he did was improve and really impressed me when we won at Stratford.
I remember I told Neil King then he could definitely look into this and sort out the races right now.
He’s got the experience to handle his pace now and went on to win a last-listed race at Newbury.
There’s not much rain on the horizon, which should work for him, and even though we’re entering a deeper abyss, it will be really interesting to see how he handles the next level.
Onemorefortheroad did everything right and I look forward to riding him.
When you need him to change gears up or down, he’ll do it right away.
He’s perfect like that, an uncomplicated soul who just loves to compete and that’s all you could ask for.
Then I had a really busy Sunday, with five trains booked at Fakenham, so we’re up and down the country at the moment.
HOPE FANS REMAIN
Sadly, however, Covid seems to be trying to make its way back into the country and it’s clear that everyone is ramping up precautions and regulations.
We had to show our vaccination certificates when we went racing, and the masks were worn back onto the lawn and down the field to start.
I just hope the public can keep coming to the races, because it’s been so quiet and dull without them last time.
But the most important thing is that everyone is safe and healthy, and hopefully we can.
Until next week, keep kicking.
