Forrest Gump lookalike pays a visit to Queen Elizabeth in viral photo

Run, Forrest, run… all the way to England!

Tom Hanks’ famous character from 1994’s ‘Forrest Gump’ made a surprise appearance at Paddington Station in London on Tuesday.

A mysterious man who looked eerily similar to the character was seen glaring at Queen Elizabeth during her visit to the new Elizabeth train line, named in her honor for the Platinum Jubilee.

Valentine Low, the royal correspondent for the Times of London, posted a picture of the daywhich shows the 96-year-old monarch in a light, lemon-colored coat and matching hat.

“The Queen looks good in yellow,” Low wrote alongside his now-viral snap.

But in the distance, Forrest Gump appeared to appear from behind a door and peered into the photo.

While the man stands at the back of the line to see the sovereign might have saw like Gump in all his buzz-cut, plaid shirt-wearing glory, it wasn’t actually him.

Hanks and his son Chet were spotted at a Dodgers game in Los Angeles earlier this week, so it’s highly unlikely he was anywhere near the UK.

However, fans couldn’t help but have a little fun with Forrest’s wannabe performance, with a ask“Anyone else clocked Forrest Gump in the background?” and another tweet: “I’ve heard rumors that Forrest Gump is looking out the back.”

@Tomhanks is that you”, a tweeter asked the 65-year-old Oscar winner.

Another person joked“I had to zoom right in to see if that was Forrest Gump,” while one added, alluding to a famous line from the film, “Mom used to say meeting the Queen was like a box of chocolates.”

Hanks won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the ’90s comedy, which was directed by Robert Zemeckis. Robin Wright, Gary Sinise, Mykelti Williamson and Sally Field also starred in the heartwarming tale of a man from Alabama who somehow finds himself in the middle of several 20th-century historical events.
