Footie fan shows off a collection of 400 shirts from Portsmouth to Milan

FOOTIE’s frantic Antonio Massari shows off his collection of 400 shirts – and gets a boost for wearing one every day.

The Portsmouth and Inter Milan The fan, 35, has visited 90 countries and spent £10,000 on shirts ranging from the biggest clubs to little-known local clubs.

He’s in the middle of a year-long challenge to wear a different set every day. He told The Sun: “I love football but I like the jerseys more than the game itself.

“A lot of people collect them but not all wear them. I want to change that.

“They are beautiful, colorful, sometimes tasteful, and they are not just for sport.

“Now that I have so many, it’s hard to find a shirt for the team that I don’t have yet!”

Antonio, of Portsmouth, started collecting them after receiving them for his birthday as a child.

Some were new while others he picked up from charity shops. He even bribed a cleaner in the Maldives to get one from the dressing room.

Most are stored at his part-time home in Milan, where he was born. Antonio is traveling the world, but will wear a different shirt every day until July. He has been to 12 countries since the start of the challenge.

“I promised myself that no matter where I go or what I do, I will wear it,” he said.

“A lot of shirts means there’s not much room left for my jeans, jumpsuits or underwear!”

Antonio even wore one on Christmas Day – the 2009 Wales home shirt. He said his challenge isn’t just about liking football – it’s about “changing perceptions” about the jerseys. Antonio, who sells pasta, works in schools and for tech company IBM, added: “You often see people wearing basketball jerseys from different countries but why don’t you see people wearing them? another country’s soccer jersey?

“They represent a country, a city, or a group of people – they all have different meanings.”

1. GENT’s third set of 2019-2020 season. “It is so yellow that it can be seen from the moon. It’s very eye-catching. ”

2. CAMEROON 2002 Season. “The only sleeveless shirt, even banned by Fifa. It’s so unique. ”

3. GUANGZHOU EVERGRANDE 2017 Season. “I used to wear it at a stadium in China when I had a season pass. Unbelievable.”

4. SHANGHAI GREENLAND season 2012. “Chinese shirts are not very popular – and in the end, Drogba’s jerseys are not Chelsea’s. It’s really not normal.”

5. CHIVAS GUADALAJARA 2006 Season. “The only shirt with a “100” on the back. Adolfo “El Bofo” Bautista was allowed to play with the number 100 shirt in the Mexican league – but had to change it in international tournaments. It’s hazy. ”

6. ESPANYOL 2018-2019 season. “This was given to me by the six-year-old child of one of the Chinese club owners.”

7. MALDIVES 2019 Season. “Literally stolen from the national team locker room after bribing cleaners. Legendary. ”

8. OLYMPIAKOS 2005 season. “I bought it during a school trip in Greece. Everyone buys vintage Greek souvenirs and products. I invested €30 on that top with “RIVALDO” on the back. ”

9. PORTSMOUTH 2007-2008 season. “First thing I bought after arriving in Portsmouth. Head to Fratton Park to buy a t-shirt that says “MUNTARI” on the back. A week after Portsmouth won the FA Cup. Can not forget.”

10. PARMA 1997-1998 season. “An iconic ’90s look and it was the first shirt my mom bought me.”
