Florida man Gregory Berg arrested for hitting dog

A Florida man hit a dog and threatened to shoot people inside his home after a heated argument, authorities said Tuesday.

Gregory Berg, 45, was tied up earlier this month after witnesses accused him of the series of violence that began when he stumbled home drunk, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said.

Authorities said witnesses at the residence told MPs Berg punched, kicked and threw the dog after it started barking while arguing with another person in the house, according to WKMG-TV.

Berg then went upstairs, witnesses reported, and threw objects at people on the first floor while simultaneously pointing a vacuum cleaner at them, the outlet reported, citing authorities.

He also warned her that he would shoot anyone who entered his room, the sheriff’s office said.

When deputies arrived on Nov. 19, Berg did not leave the house and then grabbed a pocket knife before they stopped him and handcuffed him, according to a WKMG affidavit.

Berg is also said to have had alprazolam with him, for which, according to the arrest report, he had no prescription.

He was charged with three counts of domestic violence, animal cruelty, nonviolent resistance and possession of certain drugs without a prescription, the news agency reported.
