Florida man arrested for allegedly filming child under cabin in airport bathroom

A Florida man faces two counts of video voyeurism for allegedly filming two victims under a cabin door in an airport restroom, one of whom was an 11-year-old child, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
Michel Fernandez Fuentes, a 46-year-old worker at a food and beverage company at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport, was arrested Friday and sentenced to the Pinellas County Jail, according to prison records.
The incidents happened in June, when two different victims reported seeing a reflection of themselves in a cell phone held under a cabin door in the bathroom, likely because the phone’s front-facing camera was being used.
Detectives determined that Fuentes allegedly entered the bathroom and used the stall next to the two victims.
When law enforcement questioned Fuentes, he admitted using his phone in the bathroom but denied filming anyone or accessing the camera.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for his phone and found 160 photos of others’ legs in adjacent booths, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
Fuentes also allegedly accessed the camera and photo gallery on his phone when the two known victims reported seeing the camera under the stand.
Fuentes’ employer, SSP America, did not respond to a request for comment on Sunday.
Fuentes was released from the Pinellas County jail on $15,000 bail on Saturday.
