Sebastian Hughes

Florida Democrats are saying that criticism of Vice President Kamala Harris on Spanish-language radio programs is part of a coordinated campaign, Politico reported.

Political veterans in the Sunshine State are spooked by the speed and intensity of criticism on local radio shows in recent weeks and suspect it is part of a larger effort. more to reduce Harris’s Reputation in Latino Community, Politico report.

Fernand Amandi, a political strategist who helped Barack Obama win Florida in 2008 and 2012, said the arguments against Harris Politico reported. His suspicions were aroused “because [Harris] Not really a topic of conversation here. “

“The focus has always been on the Democrats, Biden, the local officials,” Amandi told Politico. He described criticisms ranging from Harris’s lack of preparation to serve to accusing her of prioritizing black American issues over Latino concerns because of her own ethnicity.

Amandi told the store about an instance when he changed stations and heard one caller say the same thing he just heard another caller say.

“This is the woman who does nothing,” Amandi recalls the argument of both callers. “It’s a different person from the other [station]. And I was like, “Oh my God, they have a phone bank.”

Roberto Rodríguez Tejera, a morning radio host with a three-decade career in media in Miami, also said he’s noticed a tendency for people to call out for the vice president, concluding that they coordinated, Politico reported.

“It’s not like you get 10 calls a day. It’s not like that. You get a few calls here, a few calls there,” Tejera told Politico. “That’s how phone banks started [have] have worked.”

“But it’s a trend that you see growing by the day; is going up week by week,” he said.

Democrats in Florida accused the party leadership of not taking the matter seriously and broke away from the state after several Republican victories there, Politico reported.

“The fact that I have to raise this alarm, that it’s not directly coming from a Democratic organization or even people in Washington, I think is a worrying sign,” Amandi said.
