Fleur East: Who is the Strictly Come Dancing 2022 contestant and what is she famous for?

All fans of dance, sequins and panels of flamboyant judges, rejoice – Be sure to come dance is back for another week.

The autumn season on BBC One is in full swing with Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman resuming their hosting duties.

After a trial run last year, Anton Du Beke has made his final move from dancer to judge this season as he now shares scoring responsibilities with Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Craig Revel Horwood.

Of course, there are plenty of professional dancers in tow, as well as a slew of celebrities showing off their skills in styles ranging from salsa to waltz. (You can see the full lineup here.)

One candidate many are hedging their glitter ball bets on is singer Fleur East. She is coupled with new dancer Vito Coppola.

But who exactly is East and how does it feel to be a part of it? Strict 2022?

East first hit television screens in 2005 as part of the girl group Addictiv Ladies The x factor. After being eliminated from the live studio shows in week one, the group disbanded.

However, this was far from the end of East X factor Trip; In 2014 she performed again as a soloist, where she impressed the jury and the audience with her energetic performances. Their rendition of Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” reached number one on the UK iTunes Chart and resulted in the original track being released five weeks ahead of schedule.

Talk about why she wanted to participate Strict, East said, “First of all, it’s the best show ever. Secondly, it’s a personal reason for me, my dad passed away in 2020 and this was his favorite show. He used to be annoyed that he had to miss it Strict when it was my turn The x factor because they were on at the same time.

“When I was debating whether or not I should do it, I spoke to my sister and she reminded me that my dad used to watch it all the time and then that was immediately the deciding factor, so that’s my motivation, it to do.”

In week four, the judges adored East’s moody Argentine tango to Ciara’s “Paint it Black.” She finished second in the standings with 38 points, avoiding the dreaded dance-off after being there the previous week.

In week five, East scored 32 for her jive to Abbas’ “Waterloo,” while in week six (Halloween week) she salsaed to Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul,” scoring 32 again.

East and Coppola ended the episode by diving into the dance, facing James Bye and Amy Dowden.

In week seven, East once again impressed the judges, scoring a near-perfect 39 for her waltz.
