Whether she’s on the big screen or our home TV, Betty White captivated us with memorable performances on “The Golden Girls”, “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”, “The Proposal” and many more.
The beloved comedian and actress is hailed as a TV legend but has also made her mark in other fields. In 2010, she appeared in Famous Super Bowl commercial for Snickers. That same year, she hosted an episode of “Saturday Night Live” at the age of 88. And throughout her career, she has been at the forefront of fighting racial injustice in the entertainment industry in addition to giving voice to those who have no voice in animal rights.
White, who died on New Year’s Eve at the age of 99. canceled or turned into a tribute to her unexpected passing.
Now that her 100th birthday has arrived, it’s the perfect opportunity for fans to not only mourn but celebrate a long and truly lived life. Salon has rounded up some of the best ways to thank Golden Girl for being friends.

A documentary – formerly titled “Betty White: 100 Years Young” and renamed “Betty White: A Celebration” – was originally produced to celebrate her birthday. Now, the series is being released as a retrospective on White’s life and long television career.
The documentary features behind-the-scenes footage of White’s life, including her entertaining at home, working on set and advocating for animals. There are clips of White’s most famous television roles along with a lost clip from White’s early 1950s sitcom. A host of guest stars appeared, from Carol Burnett and Valerie Bertinelli to Ryan Reynolds and even the late Alex Trebek.

Hulu has been Betty White Central for a while now, and the streaming service has added new content in anticipation of her 100th anniversary. All seasons of “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” “The Golden Girls” and its newly added spin-off, “The Golden Palace”, available, along with the 2009 rom-com “Offer,” in which White plays Ryan Reynolds’ grandmother Annie.

Meanwhile, “Hot in Cleveland,” which follows three best friends over 40 and their newfound lives in Cleveland, Ohio, which can be streamed on Paramount+. And the crime drama, “Boston Legal,” where White appeared in 16 episodes, is available on Prime Video.

If you want to let someone else manage for you, Hallmark channel running the most popular episodes of “Golden Girls” in White’s honor for one day. Based on Living in the South, Selected episodes will “highlight Rose’s surprising competition streak; visits by her St. Olaf relative; humorous career moments from the grief center and pepper reporter support uses Enrique Mas; along with lots of romance, including boyfriend Dr. Jonathan Newman, Mister Terrific and of course, Miles Webber.”
The channel will also air the 2011 romance drama “The Lost Valentine,” in which Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sean Faris star alongside White’s Caroline Thomas, an elderly widow whose husband was declared missing during World War II. .

The online movement encourages people to donate to local animal camps, welfare organizations and rescue centers to make White’s life-long animal campaign. (You can even see proof of her love for animals in several episodes of “Golden Girls”.)
The posts read, “On Betty White’s 100th birthday, January 17, everyone should pick a local rescue or animal shelter in your area and donate just $5 under the name Betty White. Let’s make her 100th birthday the movement she deserves.”
Several fans have come forward to rescue their choice. But many have targeted White’s date of birth for a clear and coordinated impact. Celebrities like Trisha Yearwood are even getting in on the action matched some donations.

While these last two activities can only be done in Los Angeles, they represent that fans are finding other ways to celebrate the actor locally. New mural by Los Angeles artist Corie Mattie on Melrose Ave. honors White and her work as an animal advocate. Along with the mural’s simple message – “Be More Like Betty” – is a QR code that allows visitors to donate directly to Wagmor Pets, an organization that rescues and rehabilitates dogs in need of help. . Based on TMZ, Mattie’s artwork reinforces the aforementioned #BettyWhiteChallenge.
Not far away, one can also enjoy one of White’s favorites: a simple hotdog with nothing but meat and bread at the Pink’s Hot Dogs. The hot dog stand in Los Angeles, located near the corner of Melrose Avenue and La Brea Avenue, will honor their celebrity clientele with a new, no-topping special called “Betty White Naked Hot Dog.” During the week of White’s birthday and to remember her love for animals, all proceeds from the sale will go to the Los Angeles Zoo.
