Fight at taco stands in north Houston leads to gunshots, driver’s wife fires back, police say

The shooting happened around 1:33 am on the 20th block of Rittenhouse near Airline.
According to officials, the driver and his wife were pulling into the parking lot when a man came out in a pickup truck. The police believe that there began a dispute between the driver and the man.
According to a witness, both drivers got out of their cars before the pickup driver fired a gun multiple times, hitting the other man in the chest before driving away and calling the police.
As the man fled the scene, the injured man’s wife allegedly fired a gun at him, according to Lieutenant Igancio Izaguirre of the Houston Police Department.
This weapon was seized and is in the possession of HPD.
The man was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition after officers and firefighters from Houston arrived at the scene, police said.
The driver of the pickup truck was interrogated and later arrested by the police.
The HPD’s Major Assaults Division will conduct the investigation.
