Fear is growing for the missing woman, 33, who was last seen getting into a Transit van with a man as a 50-year-old man was arrested on kidnapping charges

DETECTIVES are appealing for information on the whereabouts of a woman who has disappeared after being seen boarding a van.

Katie Kenyon, 33, has not been seen since she got into a silver Ford Transit van on Friday as police officers arrested a 50-year-old man on suspicion of kidnapping.

Her family are “extremely concerned” for her well-being after leaving their home in Burnley, Lancashire at around 9.30am.

A woman matching her description left Todmorden Road with a man and drove to the Bolton by Bowland area in the van, registration MT57 FLC.

Officials have confirmed her disappearance is “extremely out of character” and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Lancashire Police are appealing to anyone who has seen Katie, either alone or with someone else, or has dashcam footage of the van to come forward.

Katie is described as white, 33, 5’7″ with shoulder length blonde hair.

She was last seen wearing a blue cardigan, light blue and white top, black leggings and flip flops.

A 50-year-old man from Burnley has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping in connection with the investigation.

Investigators confirmed that he remains in police custody and is helping the police with their investigation.

Defective Chief Insp Al Davies of the Force Major Investigation Team said: “Katie’s disappearance is atypical and her family is understandably very concerned.

“We are doing everything we can to find her and I would urge anyone with information, however insignificant, to come forward and contact us.

“I would particularly like to hear from anyone who has been in or around Bolton by Bowland and seen anything suspicious to come forward.

“Have you seen a woman who fits Katie’s description, either alone or with a man?

“Have you seen the silver van or do you perhaps have dashcam footage showing it?

“While we have arrested someone in connection with our investigation, I am very open about what happened and I have a team of officers and staff working hard to find Katie and bring her back to her family.

“They could help with that, so please get in touch and speak to us as your information could prove crucial.”

A Lancashire Police spokesman added: “Our inquiries to date indicate that at around 9.30am on Friday 22 April a woman matching Katie’s description struck a deal with a man at an address in Todmorden Road, Burnley. and traveled to the Bolton by Bowland area in a silver Ford Transit, registration MT57 FLC.

“She has not been seen since and we are appealing to anyone who has been in the area who may have seen Katie, either with company or alone, or seen or have seen dashcam footage of a van matching the description to get in touch and contact us.”
