Fayetteville police are searching for a suspected sexual assault

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WNCN) – Fayetteville police are searching for a suspected sexual assault.

Police said they responded to a reported sexual assault around 1:45 a.m. Sunday.

During the investigation, police found that the victim was “accidentally identified and assaulted by the suspect,” and the suspect broke into her home.

Police said the suspect was a man with a low, Afro-style haircut, who is about 5ft 8ft tall and weighs about 160lbs. The suspect was said to be “wearing light blue jeans, a blue shirt, a light jacket, sneakers and a gray knitted brimmed hat. The suspect was driving a black heavy-duty “Dual” truck.”
