Family: Woman hospitalized after night of brain death

LOS ANGELES (KABC) – An aspiring architect who was mysteriously abandoned at a hospital west of Los Angeles after a night out with her friend is now brain dead, according to family members .

This weekend, the family of Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola announced that her organs will be donated to nine different people.

The deaths of Cabrales-Arzola and her friend Christy Giles, an aspiring LA model and actress, drew attention from family and friends, who allege the women were drugged. not to their liking after a night out in West Hollywood.

Giles’ family told Eyewitness News earlier this month that the girls were taken outside of separate hospitals nearly 12 hours after the mysterious text message exchange between the two.

Giles’ mother claims to have video footage of a car with no license plates and men hiding their identities placing Giles at Southern California Hospital and Cabrales-Arzola at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in West LA

A toxicology report to Cabrales-Arzola said heroin was found in her system.

Officials concluded an autopsy on Giles, but the cause of death was adjourned in a toxicology report, which has not yet been released.

The families of both women say that neither of them took the drug on their own.

Meanwhile, the matter is still under investigation.
